Starting in mid-November, Columbia Opportunities, Inc. accepts applications from Columbia County residents for the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP). HEAP is a federally funded program that provides help with a household’s annual energy cost. In January the program also offers an emergency benefit for households in a heat or heat related energy emergency.
People may apply in person or by mail through Columbia Opportunities, Inc. at 540 Columbia Street in Hudson, NY. HEAP hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 9 – 11 a.m. and 1 – 3 p.m., Wednesday from 9 - 11 a.m. and Thursday from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. Call 518-828-4611 for information or an application.
