Head Start UPK Teacher/Center Director
Head Start is a comprehensive child development program for children ages 3 – 5. Head Start provides social, emotional, health and nutrition services for income-eligible families. Head Start encourages the role of parents as their child's first and most important teacher and builds relationships with families that support positive parent-child relationships, family well-being, and community connections.
Head Start UPK Teacher/Center Director – Taconic Hills – As the leader of the classroom team the teacher will plan and carry out early childhood development activities in support of school readiness while maintaining a healthy, culturally & developmentally appropriate classroom setting. The teacher also works with the classroom team to create positive relationships with children and their families. All work must comply with Head Start Performance Standards and NYS Office of Children and Family Services Day Care Regulations. 40 hours per week/44 weeks per year.
· NYS Certification in Early Childhood or Special Education, Birth – Grade 2
· At least one year of experience working with preschool age children and supervisory experience
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Clean, valid, New York State driver's license
· Basic desktop computer skills
· Fluency in English & Spanish is desirable
