Do you live in Columbia County, NY? Are you wondering how to save money on your home energy bills and make your home feel warmer? Homeowners and renters may may apply for the Weatherization Assistance Program with the attached application.

The Columbia Opportunities Weatherization Assistance Program provides FREE energy audits and installs energy savings material for income-eligible homeowners and renters to help them save money on energy bills. 

Weatherization can help to:

• Lower heating and cooling costs

• Save energy

• Improve home safety and health

• Protect & preserve housing

Services (based on an on-site energy audit) may include:

• Sealing cracks and holes to stop heat loss

• Adding attic or wall insulation

• Repairing heating systems

• Installing energy efficient lighting and appliances

• Repairing windows and doors

• Small repairs needed to maximize energy savings

• Fixing energy-related health and safety issues

The Weatherization Program only installs energy conservation measures identified during the home energy audit or assessment in the homes of eligible people. We do have a waiting list for this service.

We are not able to make emergency home repairs and we do not repair or install new roofs. If you are in need of major home repairs, please contact Galvan Housing Resources at (518) 822-0707 for information about their Home Improvement Program.
